Nicholas Thisse

Nicholas (Nick) Thisse founder and owner of Rehabilitation Associates, a small, family-owned organization operating skilled nursing facilities in Eastern Massachusetts died on Thursday, March 14th.  Nick dedicated his professional work to enhancing the lives of nursing home residents and staff.  He was in the original class of Licensed Nursing Home Administrators, taking the test with his peers in 1970, and was an active member of Mass Senior Care Association. He and his family also believed strongly in the mission of the Mass Senior Care Foundation and have for many years generously supported the work of the Foundation to advance the careers of the long term care workforce. Founded in 1966, the company has been managed for two generations by family members, including Gilbert Thisse, Director of Operations, who serves on the Mass Senior Care Board of Directors. Nick is survived by his wife Marion and their children Peter, Gilbert, Denise and Phillip. Local services were held on Wednesday, March 20th at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home in Medfield. Donations in Nick’s memory may be made to the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Department, 5609 Whitaker Road, Martinsburg, NY 13404.
