A post-conference “Thank You LTC Heroes” cocktail reception at Off the Rails restaurant will immediately follow the afternoon session.

Morning Session, 9:30 am – 11:30am (2 CEUs)

Welcome and President’s Perspective – Tara Gregorio, President, Mass Senior Care Association

Keynote Address: Getting Real about Being ‘In the Red’

Alexandra Drane, Co-Founder and CEO, Rebel Health and ARCHANGELS

Caring for others is the single most foundational element of humanity. It’s part of all of us, and that’s a powerful thing. It can also get intense, impacting our relationships, our work, and our health. What do we do with all that intensity? We cope. We survive…sometimes self-medicating with a second (or even third) glass of wine or food choices we regret. Sound familiar? The Caregiver Intensity Index gives you an Intensity Score, with being “in the red” translating to having the most stress with the least access to support.  In this talk, you’ll be validated by recent data about the reality of care in the US, and empowered to do something about it, for ourselves – and as leaders in our organizations and communities.

Chair’s Report & Annual Business Meeting – Tom Lavallee, Mass Senior Care Board Chair, COO, Alliance Health Management

Trade Show & Buffet Lunch, 11:30 am – 1:30pm

Afternoon Session, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm (2 CEUs)

Workforce Matters

Susan Misiorski, Vice President of Workforce Development, Mass Senior Care Association

Stabilizing the long term care workforce continues to be a top priority.  In this session, we’ll provide a snapshot of current challenges and opportunities informed by data from member Workforce, Nursing Home Administrator, and Career Advancement surveys. Gain a deeper understanding of how workforce challenges and member feedback are a driving force in MSCAs advocacy and workforce development strategies.

Tired to Inspired

Denise Boudreau, President, Drive, a culture consultancy firm that optimizes recruitment and retention, exclusively for healthcare and senior living organizations

You came into the aging services field wanting to make a difference in the lives of others, but after a few years you found yourself feeling more tired than inspired! That’s especially true the last few months. In this powerful presentation, you’ll discover the astonishing underlying cause of the fatigue that so often turns the most idealistic and well-intentioned team members into part of the problem. You’ll find out how doing the right thing, in every sense of the word will have the hearts of your team brimming with the love and enthusiasm that led them into aging services in the first place.
