  • Update on EOEA LGBT online training - Group learning option
October 21, 2021

On June 30, 2021, Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) released a memo concerning the launch of the online training course for providers to prevent and eliminate discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and expression in accordance with state law, Chapter 19A, Section 43.

Since that memo was released, EOEA has worked with their partners at Boston University’s Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (BU CADER) to create a group learning option for the required training. Organizations can fill out an online form requesting the opportunity to conduct group learning.  For an organization to hold group learning, the facilitator must be on record with BU CADER as having successfully completed the training.

Please use this link to access the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to explain the process. Please note that the required training must be completed by all current staff and others by the end of June 2022 and by all new hires within 12 months of being hired. If there are technical issues accessing the training, please request help at https://bu219.activehosted.com/f/134. For other questions about the LGBT and Aging training please contact Allison Staton of EOEA.
