  • REMINDER: Reporting of Healthcare Personnel Influenza Vaccinations - due May 15, 2024
April 26, 2024

CMS-certified skilled nursing facilities are required to report annual Healthcare Personnel influenza vaccination summary data through the NHSN HPS Component annually. The reporting period for the 2023-2024 influenza season is from October 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024. To meet CMS reporting requirements, HCP influenza vaccination summary data reports must be entered into NHSN no later than May 15, 2024, for the 2023-2024 influenza season. Facilities can edit their data after May 15, but the revised data will not be shared with CMS. Monthly reporting in NHSN is not required; entering a single influenza vaccination summary report at the end of the reporting period for the influenza season will meet the minimum data requirement. Reporting weekly influenza vaccination data in the LTC Component does not fulfill this reporting requirement.

Nursing facilities are no longer required to report healthcare personnel influenza vaccination data through the Health Care Facility Reporting System (HCFRS) due to the requirement to report through the NHSN HPS Component.
