Effective July 2023, nursing facilities are tasked with completing the final Management Minutes Questionnaire (MMQ) turnaround, as we simultaneously transition to a MDS based reimbursement system on October 1, 2023. The Medicaid reimbursement system will be based on a Medicaid Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) system and utilize the Minimum Data Set (MDS 3.0) assessment as the acuity measurement tool to determine payment for MassHealth members.
Beginning in June, MassHealth will begin to import MDS data from CMS to build member records with accurate levels of care in preparation for the October 1st implementation. How will you operationalize systems to ensure accurate and appropriate reimbursement?
