  • Meet Guylene Muzac, a Long Term Care Hero and 2021 Foundation Scholar
March 4, 2021

“I find my job to be rewarding, and the personal gratification my patients give me every day is priceless.”

At a young age, Guylene [Gilly] Muzac’s heart was set on becoming a nurse after watching her aunt receive tremendous nursing care. For the past 14 years, Guylene has worked on the Alzheimer’s/Dementia Unit at Sherrill House in Boston. Recently she has been working as a Resident Care Manager, where she continues to make a positive difference.

Guylene is a dedicated leader with a strong work ethic and a calming nature.  Her supervisor notes that throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Guylene has taken rigorous efforts in order to follow protocol while still maintaining relationships with the residents.

Guylene is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at Curry College so that one day she can fulfill her dream of visiting her home country of Haiti and applying her knowledge and skills there. “I realize I may not be able to solve all the problems that exist, but if I can make a difference in one person’s life, it will have all been worth it."
