  • May Brings Important Opportunities to Celebrate with Staff and Residents
April 11, 2024
nurses week

Two back-to-back opportunities to host employee celebrations are rapidly approaching. The week of May 6th-12th is National Nurses Week, and May 12th-18th is National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW).  These events offer an important opportunity to celebrate the 53,000 employees who work in Massachusetts nursing facilities, 15,500 of whom are nurses.

The theme for this year’s nurse’s week is “Nurses Make the Difference” and a Free Toolkit is available from the American Nurse’s Association and offers resources to assist nursing facility employers in honoring their dedicated nurses.

Immediately following Nurses week is National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW), a great time to celebrate all who live and work in nursing facilities. The American Health Care Association (AHCA) has deemed this year’s theme " Radiant Memories - A Tribute to the Golden Age of Radio”.

Planning celebrations on any and all dates that honor people who live and work in long term care is a vital opportunity to build spirit, have fun, and demonstrate sincere appreciation. Please click here to access National Skilled Nursing Care Week resources.
