  • MassHealth Technical Refresh Initiative Phase I: Batch 270/271 Eligibility Transactions – Set to Go Live on October 28th
October 17, 2019

MassHealth’s Technical Refresh, on October 27, 2019, will replace its "end of life" HIPAA compliance and translator tool. Providers and Trading Partners who submit and receive 270/271 batch eligibility transactions are required to evaluate the changes outlined in the MassHealth HIPAA Companion Guides, modify their systems as appropriate, and test the transaction with MassHealth to ensure that files submitted on or after the implementation date will process correctly.  The agency has asked Provider Associations to urge providers to check the MassHealth approved vendor list to ensure the Billing Intermediary, Clearing House and/or Software Vendor has tested with MassHealth to ensure compliance.

MassHealth has also provided the following information regarding the Technical Refresh:

  • Quick reference guide of the new compliance requirements.
  • MassHealth Approved Vendors List link
  • MassHealth Technical Refresh Webpage
