  • EOHHS Health Equity Data Standards and Accountability Recommendations Available for Public Comment
July 7, 2022

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) recently convened, through an open procurement, representatives to serve on two Health Equity Technical Advisory Groups in support of the EOHHS Quality Measure Alignment Taskforce's goal of advising EOHHS on the measurement and reporting of health and health care inequities and accountability for reducing such inequities. These groups have produced recommendations, which are posted for public comment on the Taskforce website. Members of the public are invited to share written feedback on these recommendations by emailing Quality.Alignment@chiamass.gov by July 15, 2022. See below for summary descriptions of goals for each of the Health Equity Technical Advisory Groups.

Health Equity Data Standards and Collection Technical Advisory Group

  • Overarching goal to provide recommendations to the Taskforce on an aligned approach to standardized data collection related to social risk factors, including race, ethnicity, language, disability (RELD), sexual orientation, gender identity, and Sex (SOGIS), for use by all payers and providers in the Commonwealth.

Health Equity Accountability Technical Advisory Group

  • Overarching goal to provide recommendations to the Taskforce on principles for introducing health equity accountability for global budget-based risk contracts (such as MassHealth ACO and commercial ACO contracts), and on how such principles may or may not be applicable to other risk contract types, including for acute inpatient services.

Please visit the Taskforce website for more information about Taskforce goals and initiatives. Any questions about the Taskforce, the Technical Advisory Groups, or this public comment request can be directed to Quality.Alignment@chiamass.gov.
