  • Nursing Home Ballot Initiative Assigned to Legislative Committee House Bill #: HB 4304
January 16, 2020

Earlier this week, the legislature assigned the Nursing Home Funding Ballot Initiative (House Bill 4304) to the Joint Committee on Elder Affairs.  A public hearing on the bill is expected in the next few weeks.  The Ballot Initiative would modernize the formula for establishing Medicaid nursing home rates. The legislature has until May 6, 2020 to enact the legislation.  If the Legislature fails to enact the bill, proponents must gather 13,374 additional signatures from registered voters by July 1, 2020 to place the initiative on the November 2020 ballot.
